GUWAHATI: The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Tuesday allowed conducting recruitment examinations in various government departments and entrance examinations for higher education in offline mode across the state adhering to Covid-19 protocols.
Chief secretary Jishnu Barua, who is the chairperson of the state executive committee of the ASDMA, through an order allowed conducting the examinations with effect from July 14. He issued the order exercising the powers conferred under section 22(2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
“The examinations should be conducted with 50% seating capacity of the examination hall or 50 candidates whichever is lower. Also, not more than 200 candidates should be allowed to take examination at any center in a shift,” the order stated.
The ASDMA stated that candidates appearing in the examinations will be exempted from the restrictions on inter-district movement and curfew.
