Guwahati: Assam cabinet on Thursday approved re-opening of physical classes for class X in the state from September 20.
Physical classes for class XII and final year classes for graduate and post-graduate courses have already started from September 6.
State education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu at the post-cabinet briefing said, “We have not received reports of any unusual situation after re-opening of offline final year classes and so the cabinet has decided to allow re-opening of physical classes for class X from September 20.”
Pegu said that after a review of the Covid-19 situation in the next 10 days, the government will take a decision on the re-opening of other classes.
“I want to appeal to parents and students to be ready for physical classes soon. If the situation continues to improve after a week or 10 days, we will make a decision on graded re-opening of physical classes for other classes,” Pegu said.
