What is a “Questionnaire”? What are the qualities of a good questionnaire?
A questionnaire consists of a no. of question printed on type in a definite order on a form or set of forms. The questionnaire is mailed to respondents who are expected to read and understand the questions and write down the reply in the space meant for the purpose in the questionnaire itself. The respondents have to answer the question on their own.
Construction of good questionnaires:
The questions should be clean and brief.
The question should be valid i.e., it should elicit the info. For which the question is intended.
As for as possible, the question should be such that they can be answered in yes or no.
There should be a natural, logical order in which questions are put.
The question required calculation on the part of the questionnaire should be provided to avoid confusion.
Some question which cross-check the info on vital issues should be included.
The questionnaires should look attractive and interesting to ensure greater response.
