NEW DELHI: The Union Public Services Commission has written to states to allow over 600 candidates who cleared the Civil Services (Main) Examination last year to travel to Delhi this month for the interview even if they live in any containment or restricted zones.

UPSC has also come up with a revised schedule for various competitive examinations this year, starting with a common examination for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy on September 6, subject to alteration if the circumstances so warrant.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination for 2020 will now be conducted on October 4 while the main exam will take place on January 8 next year. As per the original notification issued in February, the preliminary examination was scheduled on May 31, but the coronavirus situation forced it to change the schedule.
